The new public library has been built in the abandoned area of a disused textile factory. It is composed of two floors and occupies an overall surface area of 2600 square metres, housing reading rooms, exhibition spaces, a café, an audiovisual library and classrooms. The industrial building is made from reinforced concrete and clad with solid brick. Several skylights open up the flat roofing, ensuring even natural overhead lighting during the day and preserving the memory of the old workplace. The lighting project complements the natural daylight with pendant fixtures and table lamps, to guarantee the ideal illuminance levels for carrying out various activities, in compliance with current regulations.
